MT-1
MT-1 (Melanotan I, afamelanotide) is a linear alpha-MSH analog (CAS 75921-69-6) carrying Nle4 and D-Phe7 substitutions that increase MC1R binding affinity and confer DPP-IV resistance relative to native alpha-MSH. It is the reference agonist for MC1R pharmacology in melanocyte culture models and the primary tool for probing eumelanin synthesis via the cAMP-MITF-MC1R cascade. The linear structure and receptor selectivity profile distinguish it cleanly from Melanotan 2 when dissecting individual melanocortin receptor subtypes. For laboratory research use only.
