Snap-8
Snap-8 is a synthetic octapeptide (CAS 868844-74-0) designed as a competitive inhibitor of the SNARE complex, mimicking the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25. In neuronal cell culture it competes with SNAP-25 for SNARE assembly, attenuating docking and fusion of acetylcholine-containing vesicles at the neuromuscular junction model. Competitive inhibition of SNARE complex formation is the defined mechanism; vesicle exocytosis and SNARE protein pharmacology are the primary research applications. For laboratory research use only.
